God created us to worship Him (Psalm 95:6). To worship God we must love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). We worship Him because He is good and gracious. Worship is centered on Jesus Christ. Music is one way to worship God. The Bible instructs us to worship Him through singing (Psalm 96:1-2) and playing instruments (Psalm 150). When we meet on Sundays at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, we make music to praise Jesus together. Music also ministers to other people. Here are some ways you can be involved in our music ministry:
God’s Word says “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Colossians 3:16). Congregational singing helps us worship God and minister to others. Everybody can join our congregational choir.
The Ridgecrest Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir exists to proclaim the gospel through music. We want to worship Jesus Christ and motivate our church to worship Him too. The Sanctuary Choir, founded in 1950, leads congregational singing and performs an anthem every Sunday morning. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:30 for a time of rehearsal, worship, ministry, and fellowship. To join the Sanctuary Choir, you music love Jesus, love others, and love to sing. Our Youth Choir is made up of students in grades 7-12. We meet on Sunday evenings at 5:00 during the school year. The Youth Choir sings periodically in our worship services. We sing mostly contemporary worship songs. Our members participate in choirs and camps through our State Board of Missions such as NewSong, OneVoice, and Mix MusiCamp@Shocco.
Our musical worship is accompanied by piano, organ, bass guitar, guitar, and drums. If God has gifted you with instrumental ability, we welcome you to join our band.
